Anyone watch Dean's interview regarding Jack's injury, very evasive, it has been known when the big boys come a knocking that players are not available prior to the transfer. Hope I am a million miles off the mark, however as I previously posted Jack definitely has a buy out clause and perhaps this big fee is going to finance our January signings, it may have already started with the goalkeeper. If we get four class signings and we need to sell in order for this to happen would this be acceptable to any of you guys. I for one would have to take a pragmatic view, should this hopefully unlikely Scenario play out. I still think Jack wants Premier league football and perhaps the deal that Jack's agent thrashed out during the last transfer window was all around us getting more money and Jack moving in January, stranger things have happened.

It would be acceptable to me Scot, no player is bigger than the club and if we benefit as a club from such a sale then so be it.
I am sure we would improve with more quality spread around the pitch, rather than be to dependent on one player, it was pointed out after the Stoke game that Jack was missing, that should not be a problem for a team with our aspirations.
There are players out there that would do the job, and the manager and his staff know who they are.

Dave, agreed, it did show in the Stoke game that we lack quality in midfield, what ever happens in the transfer window it's obvious we need more quality going forward if we are to challenge this season.

It all depends how much. Players who keep the ball as well as Jack are hard to come by and won't be cheap. If it's around the 25mill mark then I imagine the goalkeeper and jack's replacement would mean it will all have been reinvested on 2 players if we're serious about getting someone of similar quality in.
If you also add in that Jack is one of us you'd be losing the extra 5-10% that the passion for the club brings which could be a concern.

Fair comments RK, let's hope we keep Jack and add a quality ball playing midfielder perhaps santa will bring us all what we want, Ho Ho Ho!

Our owners are business men and will not let Jack go without an offer at or above the buyout clause.
None of us know what the value they put on Jack but when we were struggling for cash £25M was the minimum so I would hazard a guess that £30+ is where they will be looking.
Our problem is where can we find an inventive player like Jack for very little money?
These players are so rare that rocking horse manure becomes common place.
We must trust in Deano finding a gem for us to continue our drive for the grail.
Tomorrow represents probably the toughest game of the season and has become a must win.

I love grealish to bits but if he is sold for 30-35 million. i have no problem with that as long as we replace and strengthen in key areas
He is key to how we play but no player is bigger than the club.
We will see what happens next few weeks.

Agree bob but don't think he will be sold till end of season if we don't go up.
