I have said numerous times even average coaches can sus out teams strengths and weaknesses, teams were never not going to adapt to negate our style.Burnley, Bournemouth, Man U, Sheffield, Chelsea, Everton all stopped us, so what does a world class coach do? He adapts, do the same thing over and over again get the same results and that's what's obviously happening. So Emery, you have proved to be good up to December, so let's see the changes in style need to negate our plan A with absolutely no plan B. Every coach of upcoming games will have watched the videos of our recent games and will set up just like the others. Our slow play allows teams to easily get in to position to slow our forward progress, keep ball is only good if the end product is mainly positive, ours clearly isn't.We are obviously short of back up or Diaby would have been benched a few games ago.Dougie is walking around at a slow tempo which is completely different to earlier in the season. How i wish Mings was next to Konsa (who is our best player at the moment) .Our style is crying out for a Buendia. So we know we obviously need to adapt our style of play, because we have been found out, (which was always going to happen) we need a right back, a quality striker, and an attacking midfielder as a minimum. We have done well so far this season and that's down to Emery but on current form and style of play I can't see is finished in the top six, obviously we can improve on this if things change.

I reckon Emery sees Rodger’s as another Ollie. Similar build, has pace and certainly appears to have ability.

I hear what your saying Scot and agree to a point, we do have to remember that had we defended those corners last night it would of being a different game so emery’s style is not all to blame, we put 3 goals past Burnley, United didn’t stop us either we went 2 nil up but defensively we fell apart in the second half, and Sheffield we had 12 shots and 78% possession to their 4 shots, we need to be more clinical, we should of beaten Chelsea in the second half and had Bailey being on the pitch for more than 3 minutes I think we would have, our defence is our biggest issue at the moment, lenglet a decent squad player but he’s not got the same quality as Torres, even though Torres is not the quickest his passing out is exceptional and that’s the base for every good attack we had in the first part of the season, digne is a big miss and Moreno hasn’t got back to his best yet after the injury, we all agree that cash don’t suit the system.
I think we do need to spread the play more and not be so narrow, we need more urgency when bringing the ball forward, a right back and a left winger would be my priorities to stretch those teams who want to sit back. none of that will be any good though if we don’t defend set pieces properly, Newcastle are a good team who play with high intensity and will always create chances but we gifted them 2 soft goals from corners which is the most disappointing part.
