I read the match report on the BBC and it was basically just licking Rooney’s arse, Southampton barely got a mention. but that’s precisely why he was appointed. For the attention!
Just hilarious that now the whole world can watch and read about just how awful they are!

They were 6th when Eustace was fired. They’re now 14th. Rooney only won 24 of his 85 games in charge of Derby and, if you add in DC United, 38 wins from 139 games. His teams have scored 138 goals (just less than one per match) and conceded 186, so a goal difference of minus 48. What did they expect to happen ?

Yeah it’s absolute madness that almost everyone else could see happening before he was even appointed!
I really think they just wanted a big name, but I wouldn’t even say that Rooney ticks that box, people have heard of him. but how many people in football actually think highly of or respect him?
Who would seriously want to sign for them and him?
