Wtw we are a big look at our history it doesn't lie our fan base stadium. So if real an man urd went dwn they wouldn't be big clubs any more come on, the pundits in sky say we are a big club . yes we got relegated but the facts are there in black an white history counts its part of your dna of your club then fan base.

Agree4 Disagree0

We have great history yes do we fill our stadium every week no are we challenging for honours no hell last year and this year so far we are not even a top 10 championship side. Big clubs are selling out stadiums wining trophies even have top managers do you think we could attract somebody like Rafa Bentez like Newcastle did? We have Steve Bruce look at the guys history other than Birmingham City he hasn't stayed anywhere more than 2 years. We used to be a big club when we can sell out our stadium like eg Newcastle did when they was in this league then expand. And before people moan they can't afford to go Iam sure the rest of the country has financial problems but they still go.

Newcastle aren't a big club mate they have no history haven't won ote, spurs everton the last of other big clubs. plus heres 1 villa are still 4 most succesfull team in english football history not like it means much ha ha.

06 Sep 2017 13:53:32
FYI WTW, Newcastle sell out every week because they are a 1 team city unlike Birmingham they eat sleep and breath football up there and they got Rafael when they was in PL. Have you stepped back and thought why we will extend VP? It's not just for football reasons we could hold Boxing events and concerts like we have done already it's all about revenue ok!

06 Sep 2017 14:23:26
To me its sheer arrogance yes we are a bigger club than most history wise but you could say that about Nottingham Forest. I don't won't any other events at Villa park apart from football let's focuss on been a good football team again before we start projects. When we was in the prem we didn't sell out anyway spend the money on youth put all the money on developing the team instead of a pointless project. We are not Man Utd or Arsenal we are a club with good history that's it if we get in the prem and become a regular top 6 side then you might get big crowds but don't expand untill you fill what you got.

06 Sep 2017 17:51:04
So in your sheer stupidity WTW you wouldn't want a packed out 60,000 stadium creating money and putting Villa Park on a world stage because it a "pointless project" look at Old Trafford and the events they put on are they a global success? You do baffle me with your comments you say you want villa to be a force then you make comments like that.

06 Sep 2017 22:28:46
We can't fill the stadium now we didn't fill it in the prem so why we gona fill it when we have 60 thousend come on use your head. As for boxing we won't get 1 fight there its about vagas and wembley not Villa Park.

07 Sep 2017 08:46:13
Not like Kell Brook didn't sell out Bramal Lane a few months ago. You really do make some points with little to no evidence behind them and then throw out random statements with no relevance to attempt to justify them.

07 Sep 2017 09:58:48
We have had 2 concerts at VP both sold out in hours . Now let me explain something to you Einstein if we expand Villa Park to 60,000 it will create more money because there are more seats so people can watch football, Concerts, Boxing whatever we have a world champion boxer from Birmingham in Eggington and a few up and coming boxers now correct me if I'm wrong didn't Bellow fight at Goodison? Didn't they hold a boxing match at Sheffield Utd For Their local boxers?

Thus generating money for both club and boxers each selling out We are the second city we are in the middle of the UK so boxing fans can come from all over the country and concert goers for that matter as well. They put both grounds on the map so in your head now Einstein I hope I have cleared that up for you but I seriously doubt it.

07 Sep 2017 15:01:54
Surely if we expanded to 60,000 we'd be the biggest stadium in the midlands? Meaning all artists doing stadium tours won't be able to miss us out, for boxing events and such we'd be the best available in the region. There's only positive things can come of it.

07 Sep 2017 19:28:36
I was only thinking of a football point of view because we are football fans and i really don't think it would be good for the pitch either let's just concentrate on getting back up to where we belong and then make plans but we are still 42000 and we havnt had a concert or a boxing match there we hold more than the nia and the nec pointless arguement all that will happen is fans will sing your grounds to big for you that's presuming his going to open the stadium fully when its been done?

07 Sep 2017 19:39:22
Do you only read like the bits you want WTW, everything you've just said has been answered at least once by someone on either of these threads.

07 Sep 2017 17:25:19
And with Birmingham aiming to get the commonwealth games in 2022, it gives a target date to aim for.

I do find this argument very funny, WTW, know it all, or who ever he is today, says he loves everything villa, eats, drinks, sleeps, bleeds, even sihts claret and blue. Yet all he ever finds are negatives, problems and pain. He then tries to hide this by telling the world and sundry that he is the best as he never misses a game, home and away.
It makes me cringe!

Why if your a villa fan you would have any argument against the club trying to better itself?
It's a package. Team, pitch, ground, training facilities, fan base, infrastructure, etc etc.

I've said before, some villa fans are making the whole club a laughing stock, as they are so negative 100% of the time. They not only expect failure, they almost demand it.
It's painful and embarrassing. And it was like this way before relegation.
The Lerner years where wnak, but they are gone. We have a new leader trying to make us a global force, but he is realistic in how we get there.
Get on board, or get out.
Enough is enough.

Nail on head springs to mind Chris.

07 Sep 2017 20:10:28
Bang on Chris. It's just anti for the sake of being anti.

07 Sep 2017 20:19:48
Head against wall springs to mind daz!

07 Sep 2017 21:23:56
I'm nearly 100% sure that there was a plan to expand to 60,000 if England won a World Cup bid a few years back, and the FA were going to fund it as we was one of only 7 or 8 stadium with a 5 star UEFA rating. Surely if we win the 2020 common wealth bid, we may well see an expansion take place with us only paying for part and the government the rest, so we can host different sports.

07 Sep 2017 21:54:59
Sure does Flackie.
