So it's just been announced that Ashley Young is leaving us this summer. A total of 6 years service to the club - its a shame we didn't know before the Brighton game so he could have been given more of an ovation.

Honestly thought we would keep him around, taking his age out of the equation, he’s as fit as a butchers dog . With the amount of positions he can cover, and the amount of matches next season, I really believed he was a shoe in . Sad to see him go, great example to the kids, with the way he looks after himself and winning attitude. So Ash good luck in whatever you go on to UTV

I'm not even sure he knew. Looking at his Twitter post from the other day he was saying he was hoping to be a part of our European nights.
It surprises me, his performances this season have mostly been outstanding and never dropped below a solid 6/10.
I would have kept him as back up and replaced Cash but I can see why they'd see it as a risk. If first choice gets injured, could he regularly play 90 minutes every 3-4 days?

Think we'll bring in a new first choice RB now, with Cash as backup. Seemed an obvious decision to offer him a 1 year extension but this suggests to me that a RB is en route, possibly even close.
