No wonder Archer can't hold down a place in the team and Tim Iroegbunam is the only loan player worth keeping. Our academy is a disgrace.

I would really love to see us keep Archer, Ramsey and Iroegbunam and watch them in the first XI, there’s nothing like seeing your own break through the ranks, but despite the performances of all three I just can’t see it happening. In Archer’s case he already has Watkins and Duran ahead of him and we expect to land another forward in the summer I can’t see him accepting being fourth choice. Ramsey is an interesting one, I remember when Jacob broke through several people said that although he was good his brother was better but having said that if you look at what’s ahead of him in Coutinho, McGinn, Buendia, and Jacob fighting for in essence 2 places I can’t see him even making the bench. Ireobugnam probably has the best chance in that when Nakamba goes he is the only decent cover for Kamara and Luiz although again that depends on whether the rumours surrounding Phillips are true or not. Sadly I think that it’s more likely we sell at least 2 of the 3 and feed the money into the transfer pot which is a real real shame. I really hope that I am proved to be wrong.

If archer will be 4th choice if he stays why would another striker sign for us to be 3rd or 4th choice? I think a lot of guys on here will be surprised come the summer, don’t forget dhuran wasn’t an Emery signing he was something Lange had being working on for a while, so he’s guaranteed nothing really, Emery is not foolish I think if a striker comes he will be cheap and the big money will go out wide and a RB, possibly a CM if he don’t fancy the young lads. hopefully we get Europe and we need a big squad next year
