Dembele would be a brilliant signing, if we can get him on a reduced fee in January with an eye on going big in the summer for our primary target we should jump at the opportunity.

I have a friend who follows French football quite closely and he rates Dembele highly and suggests the main reason he's not getting game time this season is down to contract negotiations failing. Makes sense, wouldn't be the first manager to not play a player who looks like leaving on a free in 6 months.

DBS, I'm fairly certain he scored 20+ goals last season and was only beaten by Mbappe and Ben Yeddar to top scorer? I think he'd be a massive get for Villa, especially if the aim is to go big in the summer for a striker - Would give us a potent strike force and importantly options.

I think I read somewhere he scored 21 last year, I think it would be great business, and if him and the new kid do the business till end of the season we might not have to spend big on a striker in summer we could break the bank to sort our defence out

Yeah I think you're right on last season and I seem to remember he was out injured for a large part of the season prior but generally speaking he seems to no where the net is. Just as importantly his all round play is of a high standard and I think he was captain or vice captain at one point which suggests he's a good pro and decent character.
Never an exact science as to how a player fits in to a new team in a new league but all the signs are that this has the makings of a good signing and certainly an improvement on our current squad. Fingers crossed.also read a few rumours on a certain Canadian striker too.surely both would be greedy haha.
