Genuine attempt at the ball inside the area is not a red card.
Challenge probably isn't enough to be a yellow anywhere else on the pitch and the direction Mcginn was going meant it wasn't particularly stopping a goalscoring opportunity either.

Dunk is a thug. I didn’t see a card for the penalty but it definitely warranted a yellow, red might be harsh but I think it was 1 of those that could of went either way

Whack, as an ex ref I can tell you it can't be a red card. No harsh about it, it would be 100% the wrong decision.
Yellow is debatable as to whether or not you think Mcginn could have caught up with the ball to have a reasonable shot at goal. Ref gives it as he sees it and considering the level of doubt I can't complain (and I'm usually ultra critical of the level of refereeing).
