Reading tonight's thread and debate regarding the opinions whether what we have is quality or near quality or average makes interesting reading. The players have in the main been together for a couple of seasons and have regularly failed to perform to a decent standard, suggesting to me they are just not good enough. Our league position over the last couple of seasons shouldn't surprise anyone considering the lack of talent. We are hoping the new manager and coaching team are going to bring the magic ingredient that's going to make average at best premier league talent in to a unit that's going to shoot us up the table and clear us of any relegation battle, realistically i just can't see it with what we have. Any new coaching team can change formation and set up and its obvious this is badly needed, however they would need a magic wand to get Watkins to be able to control the ball and create quality and space to score enough goals and chances to make him a credible striker that every team needs to compete at the top level. To get Bailey to control the ball on a regular basis and retain possession, to get our midfield to create space, move forward at pace and make simple passes to team mates in the same colour shirts. For Cash to be able to have basic positional sense and be able to put more than one in ten attempts at crosses in to the box. For Konsa to have the simple ability to bring the ball out of the box without turning back every tine he has the ball passing back to the keeper. These issues with lack of quality are basic football requirements and have little to do with coaching but natural football ability,which is sadly lacking. So moving forward Emery has to in the short term, get the qualty we have to maximise their potential to get us to a position that we are not mired in a relegation battle. And then bring enough replacements in order to get us to safety and move up the table. We have the owners with enough money to get us out of the current situation, we have a fan base that are crying out to be proud of a team that compete, what we don't currently have is a team capable of competing, let's hooe Tuesday is the day things change for the better, because its long overdue.

So I agree we need an upgrade on Watkins as he is not clinical enough, however does that make him a bad player? No it doesn’t he always puts in a shift, runs the channels works the oppositions centre halves for 90 minutes and until recently was in the England squad, he has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Everton so he can’t be as poor as you allude to. Cash is a current international enough said in my opinion you don’t get to be an international if you are a poor player. Bailey is a winger, wingers tend to be inconsistent there is an argument to be had that Bailey is more inconsistent than most but you don’t have to go too far back where we have slaughtered a winger who is now thriving elsewhere ie AEG. I am not sure what has happened to Konsa 18 months ago he was on the verge of the England squad but has I agree gone backwards since then, we know he has the capacity to improve because we have seen what he is capable of and therefore I think adds fuel to the argument that with the right coaching he can get back to the performance levels he was achieving before. Anyway with all these things time will tell and I think January may well be very interesting not only in terms of incomings but outgoings also.

Loti let's hope a kick up the arce will kick start the players you think are good enough, i don't think fundamentally they are good enough,but let's agree to disagree. They all have until January to prove us right or wrong, hope i'm wrong and we push on, however i would be very surprised if Cash, Konsa, Bailey, Watkins are regular starters come February. One thing is for sure from tomorrow everyone has a clean sheet and chance to prove us doubters wrong.Lets hope tomorrow is the beginning of a successful future, obviously it will take time maybe a couple or three years.

Loti Iv been on here for some time now and I can honestly say in all that time Iv never seen a positive post off Scotty Dave . I’m sure he thinks,if he gets positive,some part of his anatomy will fall off HaHa .
